What is the rating out of 100 made of?
How clearly the page says what it is, for whom and what to do next, and how readable its declared design is: colours, typefaces, the smallest type size, the breakpoints for phones. The rating never comes alone: eight problems are named with it. Nobody votes; it is one reading by an AI, and two runs of the same page can differ by a few points.
What does the AI actually read?
What a search engine or a link preview reads: the title, the description, the headings, the buttons and the text of the page, with no JavaScript run. And its stylesheets: the colours, the typefaces, the type sizes, how it adapts to a phone. It does not look at a screenshot: it judges what the page declares. If the page is empty without JavaScript, that is the first line of the bill.
